Congratulations to Abigail and Cody! These sweet parents-to-be recently met up with me for their sunset maternity session in Lyles, TN. This is one of my favorite little spots in the country!!! It was so much fun to actually meet them in real life! We got to talk about all things parenthood, big families, and so much more.
Sunset Maternity Session in Lyles TN
During our session, I had the joy of chatting with Cody about being from large families! He’s the oldest of 12, all boys. One of the things we discussed was how complicated naming the next generation really becomes when you’re from a big family! Our conversation reminded me of growing up with my 7 siblings. My sisters and I often discussed (ok, heatedly debated 😆) what we would name our children! There were many fights until we finally figured out a system. As oldest, I got first choice on a baby name, then my sister next to me, etc., and then once everyone got their choice written down, we made a 2nd round!
I can’t remember how many rounds of choices we made. But I do remember that we did revise our lists a few times over the years! Of course now that we’re grown, I don’t know that anyone has actually named their children any of those names! Haha! Fun memories! I didn’t love it then, but now I love that I’m from a large family, and my sisters have turned out to be my best friends (now that we’re grown! 😄)
Abi and Cody have chosen the name Judah for their little guy, and I know they’ll make great parents! I’m so happy for them both and can’t wait to meet the little guy! In the meantime, I hope they enjoy these beautiful sunset maternity portraits to document this exciting time in their lives.
